Stress refers to any internal or external stimulus that triggers a biological response. The body's reactions to these stressors are known as stress responses.

People with depression often report low energy, a diminished interest in or enjoyment of activities, and difficulty completing tasks or solving problems. Avoiding potentially enjoyable or rewarding activities can make these symptoms worse.

Anxiety disorders are the most prevalent group of mental health conditions and typically begin in late childhood or early adulthood.
