Your Advocate for Better Men’s Health...
It is reported that up to 70% of men’s health issues are preventable; conditions like heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and some cancers (colon & lung) are strongly influenced by lifestyle and environmental factors. Men frequently suffer from chronic disease, suicide, and lifestyle-related conditions — and all too often delay care or ignore symptoms until their health reaches a crisis point. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
In Canada, 75% of suicide deaths involve men. Canadian men are subjected to a culture where the standards of masculinity are sending them to an early grave— men suppress emotions, avoid asking for help, and neglect self care; ultimately undermining their physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental health.
